Day 11.331: Opening night

E5N1's second performance of the week, was the first running of the one act play "The Best Christmas Pageant Ever". It was really impressive all around and our little thespian did a great job!

He gets to do it once more for a matinee performance tomorrow although I will probably be elsewhere for another seasonal event. There's never a dull moment!

Day 11.330: Performance #1

This was the first piece performed by E5N1 and the rest of the 6th Grade Concert Band this evening, but that is not the reason for the blog post title, rather it an observation that one or more of the kids have performances on six out of seven days starting today. Here we go!

Day 11.329: I hate to spoil a surprise...

...but this is what we are buying for all our UK friends and family this year. We'll be pulled over "importing" them at UK customs for sure:

Or maybe not.

Day 11.327: Celebration of life

Exile #2's Dad made his final journey today and I was able to tune in for part of the service to celebrate his life later in the day. It's an easy life for me to celebrate. For the 27 years or so that I knew him he was consistently friendly, kind and quiet but quick to laugh and to make others laugh when he got going. I noticed how many of the photos I have of him include either him or those around him looking like they are in the midst of responding to a joke. He was also an attentive and loving Grandad to our kids. We will all miss him.

Day 11.326: Fittings for misfit toys

Exile #3 had her in-studio dress rehearsal for the show, "Land of Misfit Toys". Part of the purpose was to make sure the costumes fit properly which totally makes sense,

but also made me smile when I realised that the misfit toys were being checked for misfitting costumes.

Day 11.325: Another song, another video

We're missing Exile #2 a lot but kept ourselves pretty busy today. I had a morning church meeting, E5N1 had a late-morning to early-afternoon play rehearsal, the girls did several loads of laundry and Exile #3 and I did some grocery shopping, E5N1 and I had haircuts and a quick chat with Exile #2 and came home with take-out. After we ate, we all wound down with a few episodes of Steven Universe.

Yesterday evening I spent listening to Exile #2's voice in the form of creating this:
