Day 13.051: Exile #2's Sunday Column #287

Exile #2 writes...

I don’t remember it being such a thing in the UK, but the US seems to excel in ‘pop-up shops’, shops that come into existence for a brief moment, then disappear. It is mostly a seasonal thing. Halloween shops open in the run up to Halloween, Christmas shops before Christmas, and right now it’s the turn of the prom shop. Having a senior in the house, it has also come time for us to step foot in one.

None of us are enthusiastic shoppers, and Exile #3 is already ruling out the possibility of a large percentage of the dresses with a no frills, or jewels, or pastels rule. In fact, she’s not even sure she wants to wear a dress. To be fair, having seen many of the offerings,I can understand. So many of them are enormously heavy and seem almost armored they have so much attached to them (I can’t believe they are comfortable).

So many dresses everywhere once you start looking!
We found one she was willing to try on and it looked gorgeous but was perhaps a bit more revealing than she found comfortable. So, I guess we’ll be popping into a few more pop up shops before long.
