Day 8.164: A visit from Phoebe?

I haven't seen the male hummingbird again, but I did manage to get a photo of this camera-shy bird:

It has been a regular visitor recently, but has not - until today - stayed in one place long enough for me to pick up my camera and get a photo. I'm almost sure it's an eastern phoebe, although there are other flycatchers that are similar enough to cause potential confusion.

  1. Nice pictures! Possibly also an immature Eastern Wood-Pewee?

    1. Thanks. Yes - they are right next to each other in Peterson. I think that it is the phoebe because it has a black beak (pictured) and flicks it tail (not pictured!)
