Day 14.057: Saturday's beach sightings

This interesting fly-by:


(it looks like the planes that tow advertising banners during the summer season).

This solitary duck:


I think - probably - a female black scoter.

This gull and some mirage-action:


This lighthouse and some more mirage - including some masts perhaps off the coast:


And finally, on the way through Ferry Beach State Park, just as I was commenting that we could hear birds but not see any, this red-breasted nuthatch flew right over our heads and then perched very obligingly while I took a photo:
