Day 14.087: Phoebe on the lawn

We often see eastern phoebes perched on fences, washing lines or tree branches are darting out to catch flying insects. The one we saw on Sunday was - surprisingly - pecking at the ground:


My best guess is that there just aren't many flying insects around at the moment, and it was making the most of what is currently available.
