Later in the day, as we were counting birds in our backyard for Project FeederWatch, a large bird came and perched just a few feet into the woods behind the feeders. I was able to get some photos and identify it (with some assistance to confirm from the aforementioned nature group experts) as an immature red-shouldered hawk.
