I’m getting ahead of myself. My day started out clearing the snow plow mound from the bottom of the driveway at 4:30 am. By the time I got to the airport my Fitbit was suggesting I might want to take it easy for the rest of the day. At 5:30 am we got the announcement. The “but” was that they were waiting for clearance from the ground crew due to the state of the runway under the still-falling snow.
When the clearance finally came it was somewhere between a yes and a no. We can’t take off with a full load so we can take 41 of the 76 passengers with confirmed seat-assignments. I was pleased to be in the 41 - although the idea that the plane can manage to get off the ground with a partial load but not a full one is not especially encouraging. Then it was boarding, taxi, de-ice and finally we could leave.
Connection in Philadelphia was more delays but I made it to Florida by mid-afternoon.
Sounds a bit more exciting than maybe you wanted it to be, have a good week.
ReplyDeleteNot the ideal start to the week but I hope all goes well from here on.
