After a very quiet few weeks, we've had masses of action on the feeders over the last couple of weeks. The most regular visitors being the goldfinches. At times there have been 6-8 vying for a perch and a turn at the seeds. Just four here, but you get the idea:
Friday the trees around my house were full of birds, and the birches in the front yard had dozens of goldfinches flying around and landing on branches. Migration time, I presume?
ReplyDeletePossibly still migration - they are relatively late breeders at these latitudes. I wonder if the wildfire smoke disrupted them at all in your area.
