Day 13.330: First winter storm (warning)

We woke up to the first Winter Storm Warning of the season. The forecast was for rain during the daylight hours, turning to snow this evening and a chance of several inches to a foot of snow.

We were a little nervous when there was already a coating of snow in the early afternoon:

and by the time darkness fell, a thick layer:

However, both the rate of accumulation and the predicted amounts for the storm seem to have eased off, so maybe digging our way out won't be too hard in the morning.
