Day 15.122: Hybrid

Our church in Portland got pretty good at doing remote church with a lot of people contributing in various ways from their own homes, so it was with some trepidation that we started to move back into our church building.

It's been going well, but it's not quite like it was before.

Sometimes hybrid means people in the space, but the preacher on Zoom:


Sometimes hybrid means music in the space and a small army making sure that the whole congregation - wherever they are - is seeing and hearing the right things:

  1. At our parish, having the priest remote via Zoom (or in our case Vimeo) is the one thing we *haven't* had to do. Our tech team was 2 at the start, but 1 person handles it now.

    1. Part of our approach has been to keep a mix of in-person and remote activity in every service. It's been a technical challenge for sure, but - I hope - worthwhile.
