Day 16.084: Birds recorded

We've been taking part in Project FeederWatch since early November. Now, as the birds that left for the winter are starting to return, we're getting to record some of them for the first time - even if they are regular spring and summer visitors to our backyard.

This week's first-timers were an eastern phoebe and a brown creeper. Neither photo is particularly great, but they were sufficient to confirm the identifications.

As a bonus, here is another bird we recorded for the first time - not for FeederWatch as they have been regulars through the winter, but an audio recording of a white-breasted nuthatch call at Ferry Beach State Park, which - for no very specific reason - we found slightly surprising (you may need to turn the sound up to hear the short audio clip).
