Day 18.279: Leaves; paper

I used the mower to do a quick leaf collection on the front lawn after work yesterday, but at some point I noticed that not everything that had come down out of the tree was a leaf.

I read today that wasps have developed this hexagonal structure independently of bees - another example of convergent evolution.

After taking these photos, I realized that it was not much material, and basically just paper, so I let the mower deal with it and put the resulting material in the leaf pile.
