Although far from common visitors to our feeders, we have seen this bird from time to time recently - and sometimes several.
It's a common starling, or as it's generally known here, a European starling. Of course, this particular bird is very unlikely to have come from Europe. In fact, I just found out that almost all the 200 million starlings in the US are descended from 100 birds released into Central Park by Shakespeare fans who wanted all the birds mentioned by the Bard to be present in America. Quite the success-story for better or for worse.
