Day 15.274: Seagull drama

We didn't see much wildlife on the beach on Saturday, but I did document this classic case of two gulls fighting over a surf clam meal:

Day 15.273: Halloween is coming

Day 15.272: Exile #2's Sunday Column #411

Exile #2 writes...

Although the night times are getting decidedly chilly, the days are still managing to be quite warm and almost summery. So much so that when we walked into the DIY store in search of washers and the like yesterday, I was not prepared for the full-on Christmas tree array. I know it’s October, and that in this country that means the Halloween decorations have already been largely replaced by holiday décor, but it definitely caused some sensory confusion.

We beat a rapid retreat - it was just too soon - and headed for the shop vac filters instead!

Day 15.271: Beach reward

We did a few jobs this morning - repaired a leaking tap and tidied up some acorns. We rewarded ourselves with a walk on the beach to enjoy the sunshine and stretch out legs this afternoon.

Day 15.270: Showy

The maple tree in our front yard also puts on a good show around this time of year.

Day 15.269: The reddening

Day 15.268: Exchiladas?

Exile #2 made enchiladas for dinner this evening. Except, having no gluten-free tortillas, she announced that she was having just the filling and some gluten-free bread.

My plate and her bread-and-filling variant

Not enchiladas - exchiladas perhaps?
