With December passing and our calendar increasingly full, we once again asked the kids if we should "just" buy a tree rather than cutting one this year - and this time they seemed happy with the idea.
So, rather than a drive out into the countryside with a saw, we had a one mile drive to the local charity sale of trees where we picked one out, watched as a very friendly man tied it to the top of the van and went on our way.
When we got home, I remembered not to drive into the garage, instead I climbed up to cut the twine and found an odd bit of fabric up there on the car roof. It turned out to be a work glove. No, wait, ...two work gloves. So, with the tree safely down to ground level, I had another drive around the corner to return the aforementioned friendly man's gloves!
