Day 11.081: Exile #2's Sunday Column #198

Exile #2 writes...

I think it’s fair to say that we didn’t spring out of bed this morning after our late night in Lewiston. In fact, we left a sore and achy Exile #3 at home to rest after all that dancing, but the rest of us made it to church to celebrate Easter. During the service our pastors put up a picture that had been circulating on Facebook, of grapes wrapped in foil to look like mini eggs - an April Fool’s prank. E5N1 got animated when he remembered it was April Fool’s Day, and hurriedly tried to figure out if he had time to pull off a prank before lunchtime. When I suggested that he might try the grape trick on Exile #1 with a grape from the snack table, however, he looked horrified - almost tearful! It seems the thought of being so cruel as to trick someone into thinking that they had chocolate, when they didn’t, was too terrible to be contemplated.

Everyone scattered to different corners of the house for the afternoon, but we got together again for dinner and an episode of the old BBC series of The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy. Exile #4 recently read it, so we decided it was time to get our hands on a copy of the TV series to show them all how special effects were done in our day. Fortunately, the humour has aged a little better! Happy Easter!
