Day 12.180: Things we saw at the beach

It's pretty astonishing that it was the first time we'd walked along the section of the beach from Camp Ellis to Ferry Beach State Park. These are some of the things we saw:

Oh so many dead and dying insects like this:


I think it's probably a Banded Tussock Moth. Also (once we had our eye-in seeing the moths) this one:


- an American Ermine Moth.

Also this which looked like a flask, but was actually a piece of wood with a dowel protruding from it:


and always a nice surprise to see some sandbags in their natural habitat:


...wouldn't you say?
