Day 14.359: Light in the sky

We've had a period of cold clear weather. It's been good for keeping our snowman in one piece (more on that later) and for some nice clear skies.

The sky wasn't entirely clear (but the right amount of clear) yesterday when Exile #4 came down to tell us we should see the sunset:
It was quite cold for stepping outside without a coat to take a photo.

This evening, as I was bringing E5N1 back from school, we saw the crescent moon and talked about how the dark part is lit by earth-light from a large and nearly fully illuminated Earth in the moon's sky. In this case it was lit enough for even an iPhone picture to make out some of the markings on the Earth-lit side.
