Due to a winter storm coming through tomorrow, we once again moved Thursday birding to Wednesday morning. Here is some of what we saw on a rather chilly morning at the cemetery.
Tufted titmouse in the first rays of sunlight |
Red-tailed hawk in the same spot we saw him last week |
When we first spotted this yellow-bellied sapsucker it was investigating the foul-smelling fruit on this ginkgo tree |
We watched him for a while flitting from tree to tree and occasionally giving a flash of his bright red throat patch |
Red-bellied woodpecker |
American robins feasting on the winterberry’s winter berries |
This looks like an illustration in a children’s counting book: Three robins in a bush |
