Day 11.053: Exile #2's Sunday Column #194

Exile #2 writes...

We’ve been impressed at the pictures of proper snow coming from the UK in the last few days, especially as our piles are disappearing fast, only to reveal the sad, crispy looking grass beneath. We avoided the snow this week but got hit by rain, high winds and high tides. Facebook was full of video clips of local coastal areas taking a battering or inundated with water. The Wiggly bridge in nearby York, which E5N1 particularly enjoys wiggling, was more like the watery bridge, completely cut off from the land. Some roads crumbled with the force of the waves pounding over them and a house in our town had some of its foundations washed out from under it.

Not our picture
It was officially declared be an occurrence of bombogenesis - perhaps the most beloved word amongst US meterologists, and the least favorite of those whose houses perch on stilts on the seafront.
