Anyway, our backup plan - a trip to East Point Audubon Sanctuary was lovely:
It was perfect while we were out, but the day turned incredibly hot and humid in the afternoon and so it continues even after dark.

Day 11.236: East Point on Labor Day
You would think with our experiences in the UK, we would know better than to head to a popular coastal spot on a sunny holiday Monday, but living here year round has distorted our perceptions of how easy it is to find a parking space when we want one.
Anyway, our backup plan - a trip to East Point Audubon Sanctuary was lovely:
