Day 16.020: Downy behavior

We saw two downy woodpeckers again at the weekend. They seemed to be getting in each other's way at times and we wondered if it was some kind of territorial dispute. On closer inspection maybe it is courtship behavior - albeit a bit early unless they know something about the arrival of spring that is not obvious to the rest of us.
