Day 17.237: Unexpected sighting

While we were briefly on Timber Island on Monday, we saw something bobbing in the waves. We were quite a long way away at the tree line and at first I thought it might be a person, but having eliminated that, we thought it must be a seal. 

As we watched it make its way along the shoreline bobbing over the waves, that didn’t seem quite right so we briefly thought it might be something very interesting. At about the same moment we both realized it was probably something inanimate and man-made. 

We think it was likely an inflatable beach toy of some kind

Rather less exciting that we’d hoped.
