It's fairly common around here, when a road is replaced by a wider, faster, straighter one to leave a few houses on a small offshoot of the original road. In many cases, because the new road replaces the old one it takes its name, leaving the old road to be renamed: Old <name of road>.
So, we have Old Cascade Road and Old River Road for example. Of course, sometimes you have to wonder if a new name might have worked out better for everyone:
