We had a busy day today, but it started for me with the longest run in my marathon training program this time around - a 21 mile run. Unusually, I didn't start at home, but drove to a point near the end of the marathon course so I could run down to a point about 12 miles from the end (by a shortcut) and then run back along the course.
It was pitch dark when I started, but when I finished - nearly three hours later, this was the view (at Fortunes Rocks beach in Biddeford).
This second half of the marathon course is quite challenging - lots of rolling hills- but I'm glad that I have had the chance to get a feel for it again before the race.
