Day 8.211: Exile #2's Sunday Column #69

Exile #2 writes...

We decided a day at Ferry Beach State Park would be a nice gentle introduction to Maine for our guests, and as the forecast predicted that the weather would be "delightful" (yes, really), we packed a picnic lunch and headed to the beach. On the way, however, we saw dark clouds that were less than delightful and when we got to the beach, it was chilly, with a bracing wind and forbidding choppy waves. Being British people at the seaside, we carried on regardless, the bravest souls even venturing into the water. But, I did begin to lose confidence in our spending much time there.

Fortunately, the delightful weather eventually arrived and we were able to enjoy our time, swimming, building sand structures, picnicking, walking and generally relaxing.

It's fair to say we are all feeling a little sleepy now.
