Day 8.274: Exile #2's Sunday Column #76

Exile #2 writes...

We spent the morning exploring at the Owl's Head Transportation Museum.  Exhibits ranged from the wonderful vintage vehicles and aircraft, to the wacky steam-powered bicycles and (unsuccessful) feather-winged flying machines.

For extra excitement, dozens of private owners had brought their vehicles for display, so outside there were rows of enormous gleaming sedans. We saw bi-planes in flight,  and E5N1 even joined his grandpa for a ride in a Model T Ford.

After a tasty lunch, we went for a blustery walk along the 0.8 mile long Rockland breakwater. We were fortunate to be able to go inside the lighthouse at the end, and even climb the tower, which we discovered still runs but on solar power, thanks to the friends of the lighthouse.

We finished the day in a suitable way, over bowls of seafood stew, piles of fried haddock and, of course, some of these.
