Day 13.174: Tree flowers

I pretty much expect trees that have actual flowers to fall into the cherry-blossom, apple-blossom range. So I was surprised when we got a closer look at the flowers falling from this tree:


that they looked like this:

 Pretty!

It appears to be a northern catalpa. A tree that according to Wikipedia has a bizarrely small native range along the Mississippi valley
