Day 14.273: Exile #2's Sunday Column #365

Exile #2 writes...

This weekend was Homecoming weekend (the weekend of the first home football game for the Exiles’ High School). This is a BIG DEAL, in some quarters anyway, as their school has a solid reputation in High School football. The build up during the week involved various “school spirit” activities, and the pep rally, of course, where I guess they rallied some pep. Exile #4 sung with their choir for this but besides that, the most I could get out of the Exiles was that the football team ran through a big piece of paper and then danced with the cheerleaders. This confirmed much that I learned about High School in the US (largely through Grease and Buffy the Vampire Slayer).

Yesterday evening, Exile #4 and E5N1 went to the Fall Festival that their school had put together in place of the usual Homecoming dance. There were various games and activities, including giant Jenga, which Exile #4 and friends turned into some kind of extreme version by rearranging the pieces. A wild night out by all accounts!
