Day 16.116: Yellow-rumped warbler

We've seen the wonderfully-named yellow-rumped warbler before (at Fuller Farm and on Saddleback - and also heard them on Arrowsic, but I don't believe we'd seen a male in breeding plumage, nor had one at our feeders - until this week.

Exile #2 saw it first, but despite a good description we were struggling to identify what it was. Fortunately it came back - several times now (in fact, we believe there are at least two) and posed for some photos.

A good view of the yellow stripe on top of its head and its distinctive chest pattern

A glimpse of its eponymous yellow-rump (often hidden when its wings are fully folded)
