Day 18.282: Two more additions to the life list

It turns out that our visit to Sanford Lagoons on Saturday resulted in three additions to my birding life list. In addition to the eared grebe (a.k.a. black-necked grebe), I needed to add American pipit and American coot. I'm pretty sure I must have identified a coot in the US before, but I don't have a recorded sighting before Saturday, so here they are.

There were quite a few of them in and out of this grass near where we parked

  1. Beautiful photos! Thank you so much for sharing! I have been to Maine...just once, about 60 years ago! (I will be 69 on October 27th). I went with my mother, my aunt and my older cousin, who drove us. We went to Old Orchard Beach and I have very fond memories of Maine.
Warm greetings from a retired lady living in Montreal, Canada.
