Our vacation spot was only about an hour and a half away from home but it was a lovely change of scenery - mountainous, with lakes, waterfalls and rocky river beds in between. The nearest river, in fact, was the same one that meets the ocean near our home. It was interesting to see it close to its source. We hiked, ate well, played games, read books, and watched movies. Perfect!
We have inevitably hit the ground running on our return. There is homework to be done. School supplies to be bought. A dance intensive for Exile #3 this coming week. A karate test for Exile #4. Driving lessons to schedule. After school programs to choose. Maybe we’ll manage to fit in one more beach day, but all of a sudden we are down to a week and a half of vacation left. Yikes!
