Day 11.298: Exile #2's Sunday Column #227

Exile #2 writes...

Yesterday was wet and windy, which seems to have been a trend lately. Exile #1 and I managed to identify an hour in the early afternoon where we thought we could get out and walk after the rain but before the wind, and we almost succeeded, but not quite. We ended up being showered on but then blown dry, so that was OK. We were, also, attacked by some aggressive leaves and had a close call with a couple of election banners that hadn’t been anchored securely enough in the ground. The banners are absolutely everywhere, of course, so a couple of disappearances won’t make a difference.

This morning, we came over all country and sang a song about thanksgiving by Mary Chapin Carpenter in church. Then, we got home to discover our kind neighbors had cleared our front lawn of the leaves that had been blown down by the storm, and for that we were, indeed, very thankful!
