The trail started out fairly uneventfully, but soon gave way to a very unusual-looking woodland - with lots of tall but relatively young trees - all very straight and orderly. We speculated that perhaps it was regrowth after a fire and we were right - apparently these red pines were planted after a fire in 1947.
