Our walk yesterday took us back to the local state park where, only a couple of weeks ago, the pond seemed frozen solid. It’s hard to believe now because, although things are not yet looking very green, they are looking fully defrosted.
We took the opportunity to follow the boardwalks through the Tupelo swamp before the mosquitos emerge for the season. Once they have, it is not a very inviting prospect and usually turns into a bit of sprint to avoid being totally devoured. Aside from a couple of mallards, there was not a lot to be seen but it was nice to be out and we took a moment to sit and enjoy the view from the bench overlooking the pond.
