While Exile #1 headed to Boston to collect Exile #3 from the airport, I headed to school, where E5N1 had spent the whole day watching the end of the one act play festival in which he had been participating. The auditorium was full of very excited and very exhausted teenagers for the results so, as you might imagine, it was very loud!
In the end, E5N1’s school did not place in the top two and so will not be progressing to the next round of the competition but the music team received a special mention (in which E5N1 played a small but essential part by sounding a clarion from backstage!) and so did a couple of his friends.
As the hosts, E5N1 and his friends had to clear up after the other students had left, so in the end, we only beat Exiles #1 and #3 home by about 3 minutes. Delighted hugs were shared and then I made a rapid retreat to bed knowing Exile #1 and I had to be up early in the morning and the change to daylight savings time was not going to be our friend!
