Hey, guess what's in the forecast for tomorrow? Yep, school is cancelled again and another 6-12 inches is coming our way to make the trenches that used to be known as sidewalks even deeper. E5N1 is no longer able to see over the top in places and even the tall(er) ones amongst us are feeling like rats in a maze when we head out. Two more systems are piling up behind tomorrow's, so, by next week, expect to find us exiting the house through a tunnel. I'm beginning to understand the 5 snow day allowance that is built into the school calendar. I'm also beginning to understand why the racks in the local supermarket include "Survival magazine" (along with Elk Hunter and Guns and Ammo).
In the midst of these extreme conditions and despite ongoing struggles with a foot injury, Exile #1 managed to run a very respectable 10 mile race this morning. Lightweights that we are, we didn't turn out to cheer him over the finish line but we did keep an eye on him online from the warmth of our couch.

In other news, there was a certain sporting event happening tonight, with a bit of local interest. We all watched, some only for the commercials and the half time show, admittedly. It's one of those occasions that highlights the difference between the US and the UK. I mean, can you imagine Katy Perry strutting her stuff half-way through the FA Cup Final? What would Gary Lineker say?
