Day 9.236: Five miles in my old haunts

After work I set off into Portland to run a five mile race. Arriving near the start a little early there was little to do but have some brief conversations with other runners and look at the view. It didn't hurt that it is one of my favourite views - from the Eastern Promenade:

The race was small but nicely organised and took us around Back Cove as the sun was setting. I did pretty well and since it had been a long time since I ran a five mile race, it was a fairly easy PR (PB) and since it was a small field, I also won my age group and added to my collection of race-related pint glasses!
