Day 16.308: Birds at the beach

Here are some of the birds we saw at the beach on Sunday - firstly the ones that were quite obliging:

Common loon

Ring-billed gull

Red-necked loon diving very close to shore

A small raft of lesser scaup

And then some that were rather distant for identification until we reviewed the photos taken with the 450 mm lens:

Black scoter

Surf scoter

Double-crested cormorant
