On the way home from church yesterday,
Exile #2 and I considered attempting a walk on the beach after lunch, but realized that the probability of a sufficiently low tide falling in the narrow window of afternoon daylight now that we're no longer "saving" any of that daylight* was not all that great.
As it turned out, we got lucky with the tides. This is some of what we saw:
A bit of squinting into the sun |
A whole sand dollar - a clear sign we are now "out of season" for beach use |
An unusual step for this part of the beach - presumably from a recent stormy high tide. |
You might need to squint, but we thought this driftwood looked like statues - especially the one on the left which we took for a stylized Mary mother of Jesus for a minute. |
We also saw some birds, but you know the drill - come back in a day or two for those!
*this is a daylight saving time reference in case it wasn't obvious
