Day 7.112: Saco Museum

We've often had good experiences with taking the kids to small local museums. Somehow the small-scale and varied content (and relatively brief visits) are often more successful than the blockbuster museum experiences offered in big city national-standing kind of museums.

Today, we visited the Saco Museum. They are open late on Fridays and admission is free in the evening so it was a good opportunity to make a brief visit.

It was also nearly our last chance to see an exhibit of dresses (and a few suits) in a very engaging exhibit. Exile #4 was rather taken with the extravagant but loose-fitting dress that was worn just for breakfast - after that it was necessary to change into something more form-fitting for receiving guests.

E5N1 enjoyed the menswear, but then bored of the dresses and wanted to find out if this tiny museum had an exhibit about dinosaurs. He asked the attendant who let him down gently but sent him downstairs where we at least found some fossils (and a HUGE lobster claw).

All in all we had a very nice visit and we will be back to see more another day.
