Day 9.275: Higgins Mountain

The first stop on our one-night vacation in the midcoast was at Higgins Mountain Preserve. This is a small but beautiful and varied packet of land with a single half-mile loop. Probably not worth the trip from here (an hour or so) just for the short walk, but definitely worth the 15 minute detour from our route to Rockland.

The trail was steep in places, but not really difficult and the view of the distant sea was a nice pay off at the mid-trail summit.
