Day 11.180: Bowdoin College Museum of Art

One of Exile #2's top picks for a birthday activity was to visit the Bowdoin College Museum of Art.

Here we are somewhat bemused as we approach what seems to be the entrance to a small empty greenhouse:

It turns out that they created this - along with a subterranean passage as an accessible entrance, because the old entrance:

didn't really lend itself to any kind of adaptation.

Inside, we enjoyed the small but varied collection and special exhibits:

The section of European and American art from 1500-1800 was not particularly exciting to me, but I enjoyed these two details pointed out by Exile #4 and Exile #3 respectively:
