Just as Exile #3 was settling back in yesterday, E5N1 disappeared for a sleepover. We picked him up just before lunchtime today, after lots of fun and an appropriately small amount of sleep.
Although we didn’t manage to celebrate it, this weekend was official Wild Blueberry weekend in Maine. They deserve the attention. Maine blueberries are delicious, smaller with a more concentrated flavor than those you can buy at the supermarket. We found some growing (and a few people picking) when we were on vacation and I wondered if we might see one or two on our trip to the heath yesterday but the bushes had already been picked clean. We did see some cranberries just starting to turn color, however, and a patch of carnivorous pitcher plants, so that was almost as good.
