Day 18.174: Dreaming spires

I spent a bit of Friday and all of Saturday last week in Oxford. Here is some of what I saw:

Selfie outside my college to let people know I'd arrived

A view down Broad Street including the Sheldonian Theatre

The lab where I worked most of the time from late 1992 to 1997, first for a year-long undergraduate project, then as a D.Phil student and finally (briefly) as an employee of the university

The actual lab I worked in most of that time was behind those windows

The end of the building where I would collect gas cylinders etc.

The building on the right is the entrance to the science library

Most of the actual library is underground - and explains why the grass is usually dead in the summer in half the lawn in front of the university museum

A new view from the roof of the renovated Westgate Oxford (shopping centre)

Carfax Tower

The Saturday was a degree day and there was a graduation taking place in the Sheldonian

I liked that they've added this wild meadow area to the University Parks to support wildlife

A small group from the reunion went to walk around college

I was in the chapel choir for several years. This was our haunt.

There are new buildings framing the old views

This building looks well established now. I was the first occupant of one of those top rooms in my third year when it first opened (91-92)
