This holiday weekend has been the perfect combination of getting some long overdue jobs ticked off the list and relaxation, with the bonus of dry weather (at last to go along with it). We weeded and mulched, went for a lovely walk, I finished one book and started another, and the whole family enjoyed a few episodes of what has surprisingly become a hit in the house - the Great Pottery Throw Down.
Exile #1 brought his (extremely) portable speaker out into the garden so we could listen to some music as we worked on Friday. We usually have it set to shuffle and that often throws up some surprises, including on this occasion, 22 by Taylor Swift. As we hauled and raked, she chirped about the joys of feeling 22. I realized later that, with one small adjustment, I could have been singing along (what’s 30 years between friends?). Tomorrow I’ll be adding to the number.
