Day 18.188: Diamond Riverside Park

I posted the birds yesterday. Here are a few other things from our visit on Thursday morning:

A not-terribly-interesting view of the park

As we walked past this wild carrot plant, we saw that each flower group had a Japanese beetle nestled in it. The beetles are invasive and their grubs are plant killers (they eat plant roots) but this was kind-of adorable 

There was some debate over what the buttonbush flowers resemble. One suggested “stars” another, “viruses”
