Day 17.120: Three pipers piping

Exile #2 and I decided against an early start in the cemetery this week although we hope to return soon. However, we did manage a birding walk of our own on the beach at the other end of the day.

We also saw double-crested cormorants and a long-tailed duck.

And then, when we were nearly ready to turn around and head back, we heard the loud insistent piping of some plovers flying around close to us and then out over the waves.

I'm not sure how many we saw, at least three, maybe as many as six.
