Exile #2 writes...
Exile #1's been at it again. He headed off first thing for a 5K, in which he won (in his words, not mine) "fastest old guy"*. They adjusted the overall placements for age and he came in a very respectable 5th place. He is now the proud owner of a fancy-looking plaque and a $5 Dunkin Donuts card**.The rest of us went in the opposite direction to Portland and HopeGateWay, where we were presenting the Sunday School teachers with some thank you gifts.
Otherwise, we are in a time of finishing up and looking forward. All of the young Exiles had 'step up' day this week, where they got to find out their teachers and teams for next year, and the next week or so is a stream of field trips and field days (sports days), promotions and parties. In the Exile household we are also preparing for two imminent birthdays and an upcoming trip to the UK.
Today, however, my brother is turning 40! So, happy birthday to the Cardiff Exile! We look forward to seeing you soon.
* Editor's note: I did make that claim, although it turns out I was actually the second old guy.
** Editor's other note: I did not the win the Dunkin Donuts card by running fast, but by lucky wheel-spinning
