Day 17.204: Birds at the cemetery

This is some of what we saw on our birding walk this morning.

One of our first sightings was this young red-tailed hawk. It seems we were spotted too.

Soon after they were displaced by a sibling - the two of them ended up perched close-by like this.

Carolina wren in full song - we heard many more than we saw

Belted kingfisher in the same spot as last week. Unusually it's the female that has this showy reddish band.

American robin

Double-crested cormorant

Likely a common grackle

Red bellied woodpecker with some food

Eastern phoebe with a successful catch
